BIOGRAPHY
Imma Trepat is a Catalan pianist with a career marked by interpretative sensitivity, academic rigor, and a commitment with the visibility of music written by women.
All the teachers she has had have been fundamental to her artistic development, leaving a permanent mark on her way of interpreting and understanding classical music. She began her training at the age of five with Pilar Rovira. At the Sabadell Conservatory, she studied with Adolf Pla and Jordi Camell, obtaining the Honor Prize. With Camell, she completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Performance at ESMUC, where she also finished her Master’s Degree with Jean-François Dichamp, graduating with honors. She has completed postgraduate studies with Josep Colom i Dichamp, and has been trained in France with Émile Naoumoff, a disciple of Nadia Boulanger, from whom she internalized a profound pedagogical spirit.
Her pianism is based on rigor, the search for an individual sound, and a will to communicate. Committed to gender-based research, she champions female composers in recitals —both as a soloist and with the soprano Marta Bonet— in venues such as the Auditori Enric Granados in Lleida, L’Auditori de Barcelona, Sala Eutherpe in León, Ateneo de Madrid, Scuderie Aldobrandini in Frascati (Rome), the Barcelona Obertura festival, and the Cicle de Dones i Compositores de Barcelona, among others.
She is a piano teacher and a member of the management team at the Sabadell Conservatory, where she promotes the study of female repertoire. She created the Musicades, an educational project that highlights female professionals in the music sector through educational activities and concerts. In 2025, it reached its fourth edition, with more than one hundred female composers programmed.
In the communication field, she has been part of the program Músiques Empoderades on the public radio station Catalunya Música for three seasons, an experience that has brought her great professional growth.
With a vocation that unites performance, research, and pedagogy, Imma Trepat represents a generation of musicians who not only excel on stage but also work to transform the musical landscape with a critical and inclusive perspective.
